Fantastic family portrait!

I had the pleasure of photographing little Jacob and big brother Finlay this week for mum Nicola. I had met little Jacob back in March when he came to the studio for his first baby photography experience. Gosh, he had changed since then! Photographing him with his brother Finlay was great fun….as you can see from the photographs!

We had a hard time keeping Jacob still now that he can crawl...

Everything seemed to end up in his mouth, from blankets...

...to ducks!

Stop hitting your big brother! Poor Finlay!

Shoot at Elvetham Hotel, Hampshire for ‘Bride & Proms’

I photographed some stunning wedding dresses for newly opened wedding and prom dress shop ‘Bride & Proms’ in Yateley. I made use of the good weather by taking the models outside but also used indoors a lot – the hotel is exquisite, what a wonderful place to get married!

I’m seeing more and more doggies these days – all shapes and sizes! Last year I was awarded a Gold award in Pet Photography by the Society of Wedding & Portrait Photographers (SWPP) for this image of two Bull Mastiffs. I really enjoy dog photography. I love the different colours of fur, the dopey expression on their faces… True, you have to have an awful lot of patience but when you capture images like this one, it’s worth the effort!

It’s official. The baby photographer is having a baby of her own. She no longer has to share her customers’. Yes, we had the 20-week scan yesterday and all is well. Things are certainly going to change in the world of Charlotte Broster Photography. Watch this space…

Back from Thailand…

I’ve just arrived home from a trip to Thailand – perhaps my fifth time in the country since I was a child! I keep returning because I love the Buddhist culture, the spicy food and the laid-back fun lifestyle. The highlights were doing a cookery course with Noi in Kanchanaburi (alongside the famous River Kwai) and visiting Ko Phi Phi Ley (the island where The Beach was filmed) and swimming in it’s turquoise sea.

I photographed Esther and Drew’s big day at the beautiful Whitley Ridge Hotel in the New Forest. Esther had planned a Vintage-style wedding, from her wedding dress to the ‘village fete’ reception complete with hay bales and bunting! It was an amazing day, the weather couldn’t have been better. I would love to be the wedding photographer at more weddings at Whitney Ridge. It was such a peaceful, intimate venue.

Ah, how lovely it is to take the day off and wander round pretty Luxembourg City being a travel photographer. What a charming little city. I walked and walked…and walked some more along the cobbled streets and up the hills. The weather was great, the sun was beating down. Such freedom!

Oaktree Nursery

I photographed 60 children at Oaktree Nursery in Finchampstead last week. I chose to do the nursery photography in the garden to mark the start of the summer and to give the parents something unique. The weather held off…although at one stage I felt a few drops of rain! Pictured here is little Toby. Mum was kind enough to say I could feature his photo. Beautiful isn’t he!
